HAT MAKING 

 

DRAPING  (ADVANCED COVERING) This class will teach students how to drape and complete buckram frames with various fabrics. Students will learn techniques on stripping, cross-stripping, wrapping, padding, and puffing. Each student will cover no less than three shapes by the end of the class.

 

In order to attend this advanced class students must have previously been enrolled in and completed the frame making and covering classes taught by the instructor.

 

                                        SUPPLY LIST

 

3 uncovered buckram frames

1-2 yards of fabric (georgette, rayon, or something that flows)

needles

thread( same color as fabric)

1/2-1 yard of lining fabric ( coordinate with other fabric)

grosgrain( 1yard) matched to lining

straight pins 

scissors

When choosing your fabric keep in mind the colors in your wardrobe.
