Hello,
Many of you have e-mailed me about hatmaking weekend workshops, and I am pleased to tell you I will be offering them starting June 27, 2004 . The first class is scheduled for San Diego California.

My name is Kay, I have been in the Millinery business almost twenty years. My first line of hats consisted of simple bridal frames purchased from millinery houses and trimmed (decorated and covered).
After being in the business a short time I realized there was a market for custom made and everyday hats, but I needed formal training in order to be competetive.
I later found that finding millinery classes in Los Angeles area was not an easy task. The Millinery Art I wanted so desperately to learn was one of the best kept secrets because very few instructors wanted to share what they knew.
Determined to find someone on the West Coast to teach me the art, I began my search, eventually finding one of the top Milliney Designers in this country....right here...in California.
She shared the Art of Millinery with me and a number of others before passing on, and over the years I learned to perfect that art. I now sell my designs as well as teach others who wish to learn the art.
My millinery classes are taught in locations throughout the South Bay area of Los Angeles. The classes consists of basic covering, frame making, and blocking. I also teach advanced covering, leather blocking and draping.
Below is a listing of  community colleges and centers where I teach evening and afternoons. For more information about the new weekend workshops please e-mail me at: kaydurdenusa@netscape.net
